F1 Race India

F1 race India  30 Oct 2011 :
It was a cake walk for current champion Sebestian Vettel as he won the first ever Indian Grand Prix with much ease here on 30 Oct 2011. Starting from pole position he dominated the race from start to end and never gave any chance for the opponents to get past his Renault. Jenson Button did give him some nervous moments during the last 10 laps but Vettel simply ran away.

Completing all the 60 laps in 1 Hour 30 Min and 35 seconds Vettel won the race and with this equaled Michael Schumacher’s record of 11 wins in a season. Fernando Alonso won the battle with Mark Webber as he finished 3rd for a podium place.

Legend Michael Schumacher gave his best performance of the season as he finished 5th two places above McLarens Lewis Hamilton. His teammate Nico Rosberg finished 6th. For Force India it was a satisfactory result as Adrian Sutil grabbed 9th position bettering his partner Paul DI Resta (13th). STR Ferrari’s Jaime Alguersuari came 8th while, Sergio Perez completed top 10.

The most shocking and disappointing part of the race was retirement of Felipe Massa as he collided with Lewis Hamilton at Lap 24. His misery ended during the 33rd Lap when he lost his car’s left front suspension only to go out of contention.

Schumacher took advantage of that mishap and he succeeded his teammate Roseberg and Lewis Hamilton to take control of 5th position till the end.
For local hero Narayan Karthikeyan it was a race to forget as he finished 17th and was short by 3 Laps. That must have disappointed the crowd but not much as presence of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar made the day for many.

As Sebestian Vettel crossed the finish line, Sachin Tendulkar waved the white checquered flag to indicate the completion of race.
